On the heels of EOS, Status, and Kyber Network, we are announcing the addition of two new ERC-20 tokens on Poloniex today. After reviewing across five broad categories – fundamentals, technology, people, business model, and market dynamics – we selected these two projects based on the opportunity they present for Poloniex customers. We are pleased to welcome Basic Attention Token (BAT) and Loom Network (LOOM) to the Poloniex family.
Basic Attention Token
BAT deposits and withdrawals are currently live. Trading in BAT/USDT, BAT/BTC, and BAT/ETH pairs will be enabled on August 22nd, 2018 at 16:00 UTC.
Basic Attention Token and the Brave browser are creating the infrastructure for decentralized ad marketplaces. BAT aims to remove the middleman from advertising, enabling an ecosystem where publishers and advertisers are able to connect with their target demographics more efficiently and transparently, and where end users have more control over their privacy and data.
The BAT token represents a unit of human attention in a decentralized platform. BAT is used to power a variety of attention-based services on the Brave browser, such as making voluntary contributions to web content creators in-browser and rewarding users for opting-in to receive advertisements. Loom Network
LOOM deposits and withdrawals are currently live. Trading in LOOM/USDT, LOOM/BTC, and LOOM/ETH pairs will be enabled on August 22nd, 2018 at 16:00 UTC.
Loom Network is attempting to bring added scalability and usability to Ethereum by enabling developers to deploy specialized sidechains (called “DAppChains”) that allow large-scale applications to run. By building on Loom DAppChains, developers can utilize alternative consensus algorithms and rulesets to achieve greater performance than what is traditionally possible on Ethereum alone.
LOOM is the native token of Loom Network, and among other use cases, acts as a conduit for users to migrate assets from sidechains to Ethereum. You can learn more about Loom Network here.
